Win Without Fighting

February 11th, 2009
The Art of War by Sun Tzu is marvelous. It is a look at the thinking process of a sage and a philosopher and a warrior. You will be exposed to a way of managing and handling conflicts that is different and yet powerful. Sun Tzu had written so long ago: “Fighting to win one hundred victories in one hundred battles is not the supreme strategy. The supreme strategy is to win without fighting.”

Disputes in life are common. Solutions to problems are available, when approached with the minimum of friction and the maximum of goodwill. It makes the impossible come true.  If fighting is the final solution for hostile or opposing ideas, this world would have perished long time ago. I would not be writing this and you would not be reading.

When you do battle it is necessary to kill people, so it is best to win without fighting.  War is like a fire- if you do not put it out, it will burn itself out.  One hundred victories in one hundred battles is not the most skillful. Seizing the enemy without fighting is the most skillful. It is best if an enemy nation comes and surrenders of its own accord. To attack and defeat it is inferior to this. When the opponent is beginning to plan its strategy, it is easy to strike. Therefore the superior militarist strikes while schemes are being laid. This means winning by intelligence.  On top of all Sun Tzu quotes, ‘To Win Without Fighting is Best’. May I recommend this to all who want to learn the winning secrets of successful corporate giants, like Google and Sony, and apply them in your business,  career or just about anything  to achieve success beyond your imagination.  My mission is to inspire unconventional and creative thinking through the use of universal principles and wisdom of legendary scholars.

To simplified understanding on this subject, I would recommend you to read  The Sun Tzu Strategy & Tactic Cards available at www.nsholistic.com. For both eastern and western community alike, The Art of War and The 36 Strategies offer timeless insights into the nature of human conflicts under extreme conditions. Happy reading !
